Dr. Matthew Tash received his M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine; afterwhich, he completed his General Anesthesiology residency at Weill-Cornell Medical College, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and the Hospital for Special Surgery. Having completed a fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the University of Southern California, he is board certified in Pediatric Anesthesiology. Dr. Tash stayed on as faculty and assistant professor at CHLA and USC where he ultimately became the Head of the Pediatric Anesthesia’s didactic program for the Los Angeles County Hospital. In this role he earned the award and honor of “Professor and Teacher of the Year.”

Inspired by his leadership role at USC, Dr. Tash joined the Quality Assurance and Improvement Committee both in his jobs at CHLA and upon transitioning to his new role as Partner Physician at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. He has reviewed numerous cases, presented at Morbidity and Mortality Rounds, at Quality Improvement Meetings and Grand Rounds, as well as doing Peer Reviews as a member of the Quality Assurance and Improvement Committee.

Dr. Tash has helped to draft guidelines for the Department of Anesthesia for Pediatric and Adult patients receiving Regional or Neuraxial Anesthesia. He has also consulted on complicated cases as well as created and improved guidelines for the Division of Obstetrical Anesthesia. Dr. Tash is an anesthetic consultant for complex pediatric cases presenting to the Department of Pediatric Head and Neck Surgery at one of his current hospitals.
